Editing exercises
How good are your editing skills? Take a look at the 3 sentences below and see what you'd do to improve the way the sentences are written:
1. The editor's letter had suggested that considerable work is required if Sandra's novel is going to be seriously considered for publication.
2. Unfortunately, as it was raised to the ground by the Romans, only traces of the original Punic Carthage remain.
3. The publisher's legal people were worried that several parts of Nigel's book could be slanderous and were therefore suggesting rewrites of three chapters.
