British Library's Map Postcard Collection

A voluntary worker at the British Library is currently undertaking the mamouth task of re-editing and revising the catalogue of the Map Postcard Collection. The completion of this task is finally approaching and the Map Postcard collection will soon be available on the standalone terminal in the Maps Reading Room. The British Library tell us that this collection is the largest of its kind in the UK and possibly the world as it comprises of around 5000 postcards. A large portion of it is made up of a bequest from Sir Richard Cave, a notable collector.

The collection is actively added to by members of staff and will eventually be incorporated into the British Library's catalogue.
