J K Rowling splits from agent

J K Rowling has 'terminated her association' with Christopher Little, the literary agent who first saw Harry Potter's potential, after 16 years

Rowling's relationship with Christopher Little represented the most commercially successful relationship of its kind, with J K Rowling having sold 450 million copies of her books and now becoming an author worth more than £568 million.

However, Rowling has now parted company with Christopher Little and is now represented by Neil Blair, a business partner of Christopher Little, at his new agency The Blair Partnership. Rowling worked closely with Blair on her new website, Pottermore, unveiled at the end of June, which will be the only place where ebook versions of her books will be sold.

Little is reported to be considering legal action. At the weekend, a spokesman for him said that he was 'disappointed,' but 'proud of the role he had played.'
