Job seeker figures fall

It has been reported that the number of people looking for jobs has fallen in certain parts of the country over the past quarter.

Wokingham is certainly part of this figure. The number of people claiming Joobseeker's Allowance in Wokingham fell throughout June, and there seems to be a downward trend in jobseekers seen in this part of the country. New statistics show there were 1,389 people claiming the benefit in May, compared with 1,447 in April.

The Jobseeker's Allowance benefit is paid to those aged over 18 who are actively seeking work. The fall in job seekers in the Wokingham area is revealed in the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.
