Fancy working for a wind energy firm in Ireland?

145 new job opportunities have been announced by the wind turbine maker C&F Green Energy. The company has announced that these jobs will be made available at its manufacturing plan in Athenry, County Galway.

The 145 jobs will include roles that are responsible for the commercial manufacturing of new small wind turbines, designed to power farms, factories and residential dwellings. A number of orders have already been placed with the company, from customers across Europe.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said Enterprise Ireland had made a significant investment in the company and was providing employment grants to support the new jobs.

C&F managing director John Flaherty said the products being manufactured would service a growing worldwide market in the renewable energy sector, and the Enterprise Ireland chief Frank Ryan said Ireland was well-positioned to become a world leader in this industry.
