Troubadour International Poetry Prize

The Troubadour International Poetry competition is in its fifth year, and has grown in strength year after year. This year it is able to announce that the prize fund for the first prize will be £2,500, thanks to sponsorship from Cegin Productions.

There are lots of reasons why it is worth entering this competition. Firstly, all of the poems are read by both judges, and sifters aren't used at any point in the selection or shortlisting process. Secondly, the rate at which poems are read and reviewed is very fast - you'll know if your poem has been successfully shortlisted within 5 weeks of submission. Thirdly, the prize-winner night is always a great affair. All 23 prizewinners are invited to read at a London-poetry-world celebration in the Troubadour cellar-club, where the judges speak about why certain poems have been picked as winners, and cheques are awarded.

With so many great incentives to put forward a poetry submission, now is the time to get writing..!
