Have you got what it takes to work for Google?

William Poundstone has released a book that offers an insight into the workings of one of the most popular employers in the world.

Google receives around 1 million job applications every year, but only 1 in every 130 applicants will succeed in getting a job there.

Poundstone's book allows us to see companies such as Google use the hiring process to secure the best people for the job and bring something special to their company. It gives us the opportunity to consider why the interviewers ask seemingly strange questions and brain teasers. The kinds of questions that don't necessarily have one answer, but aim to challenge applicants intellectually.

In the book he breaches that continuing problem that those who do well during the interview process, don't necessarily do well at the job.

Even if you never intend to work for Google, Poundstone's book is a great read.
